Project Description
A dream project for Sculptural Landscapes, a stunning architecturally designed house in need of complete landscaping. The deck was old and limited the exceptional views. Also the access around the property was very difficult. The main deck objective for the client was more decking and no balustrade to obstruct the view. This needed to be done to meet NZ building compliance code. We achieved this with clever design and building the ground level up to meet minimum height requirements. A large concrete patio for an outdoor kitchen and dining area was added with a massive timber screen as a windbreak to protect the area from those brisk southerlies. The house required a grand entrance which was achieved with wide tiled steps and rendered block planters with mondo grasses. LED lighting was added to the balustrades making it a stunning feature at night. Planting around the property has grown substantially since being planted thanks to the soil and irrigation introduced by Sculptural Landscapes. You can now see the mass of green from Anzac Drive over 10 kilometers away.
