Charteris Bay

Project Description

A recently purchased bach was in need of some serious work to make the outdoor spaces more user and garden friendly. Sculptural landscapes responded with a design that terraced the sloping site between the main house and sleepout with two low height retaining walls, positioned to create a flat lawn area in the middle. Connecting the driveway to house, and sleepout is a meandering pathway which integrates recycled timber sleepers into exposed aggregate concrete, creating a language of materiality between the path and the retaining walls.
